Grocery Trip

See what we came home with? This is our grocery run after Maya was given back pork and had soy and wheat taken away.

In the Dairy Section we have:

  • Soy Milk
  • Rice Milk

In the Produce Section we have:

  • Kale
  • Bananas
  • Broccoli
  • Jalapenos
  • Brussel Sprouts
  • Baby Spinach

In Meats we have:

  • 5lb Chub of Ground Beef
  • Pork Chops (for Maya! YAY!!!!!)

In Everything Else we have:

  • Refried Beans
  • Unsweetened Applesauce
  • Salsa
  • Bar-b-q Sauce
  • Corn Tortillas
  • Quart Freezer Bags

It’s a rather small run, but with this added to my pantry stash I very well may be able to feed the whole family for a week with this 🙂

I hope you all have a lovely day!

And there you have it. This is what a relatively normal 1 week grocery trip for our family looks like 🙂 I had to replenish some spices, which isn’t usually the case week to week, and the juice, milks, plates, soap, etc. ought to last longer than a week, but other than that, this is it. I have some meat in my freezer, and I didn’t grab all the things we’ll need for Jesse’s birthday burgers since it’s a week away. I also have plenty in my pantry for pulling meals together so this isn’t all we will eat this week, it’s simply what we came home with. Keep in mind, not all of this is safe for Maya, but it is for the rest of us. I keep plenty for her in stock so I don’t have to run all over the place every week.

I’m planning to show you some basic meal prep in a food allergy kitchen in the near future as well as what a real life pantry for a family like ours looks like. I’ll show you how to be safe in your kitchen even when you can’t completely eliminate everything your kiddo is allergic to.

I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into our grocery excursion!

Groceries

Today is grocery day in our household! I will share with you what a food allergy family’s grocery trip looks like once we’re back home. I plan to make this a regular feature so you can see the nuts and bolts of how a family like ours works with food.

Be sure to check in this afternoon!:-)
